from Virginia

Hokie NationYesterday we experienced one of the greatest single events of violence in the United States on the Virginia Tech campus, here in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Many of us know one of the victims, or have a friend who lost someone. In the midst of this tragedy, as the nation has turned its focus toward Blacksburg, Virginia, we are reminded that life is precious. It is a gift from God to be appreciated each and every day. As we pray for our friends and family in Blacksburg and across the country, we do not want to lose focus on the International Day of Prayer for Zimbabwe tomorrow. It is a sad time here in Virginia. It continues to be a sad time in Zimbabwe. As we join together in prayer tomorrow, may we turn our hearts as one toward God.

Psalm 118:1: Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithfull love endures forever.

from Auckland

A group of us at Northwest Baptist Church in Auckland, are starting the day of prayer for Zimbabwe, tomorrow, at 6 am NZtime——so, if west coast USA finishes off the day of prayer, we should get in a 36 hour day!!! Isn’t that cool.

Friends in Zimbabwe are so encouraged and excited by this time of prayer—they often feel that the rest of the world has forgotten about them.

God bless,
Alice
